Little Women has been on my to-read shelf for years. Finally, I thought I would read it after the Shining. Like in the TV show Friends. But I ended up reading the sequel to the Shining first. So I read Little Women after Misery. That works too. Interestingly, both feature main characters that are writers and write novels within the novel.

One of my mother's favorite books...and it's one of mine too. An absolutely charming story of 4 sisters, growing up during the Civil War. Louisa May Alcott invites you into their lives and makes you feel as though you were right there with them. Delightful.
