Ever since I started reading, this title was ingrained into my memory. I have an aim to read all the classics in my lifetime and I feel so satisfied having completed this.

The life story of Emily Bronte seems like any ordinary female's of her era but I can't imagine what kind of a girl she must have been or what kind of an imagination she must have had to come up with the intense characters and scenes that she did.

I read this many years ago and I have to say that I really enjoyed it so much more this time. I loved Emily's writing, "It is strange people should be so greedy when they are alone in the world." I liked that Nelly Dean and Mr. Lockwood narrated the story. I thought Catherine was self-centered and truly an awful person. Love this book! I have the both the 1943 editions of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre with Fritz Eichenberg's woodcut illustrations. When I was younger I preferred Jane Eyre but later in my life, I now prefer Wuthering Heights.

Oh my gosh. Heathcliff is officially one of my favorite literary characters of all time. I know he's absolutely dastardly and vengeful, but he was just so superbly written and so strong. I couldn't hate him because of the sheer force of his devotion to ruining every life that contributed to ruining his. Catherine Earnshaw was such a brat but one that I understood, even when I disagreed. I loved their broken, confused, but passionate love and how much they suffered for it. ...more
