I remember reading this my junior year of high school for Mrs. Moss's English class. I would generally let my eyes skim over the words, sometimes reading sentences two or three times in an effort to understand them, and hope that the in-class explanations would get me through the upcoming tests and essays. Yes - I finally read this classic chick lit book. I loved the writing style and I love the story, even though I knew what would happen again, I was still thrilled to read this book and fall in love with the story all over again. The one thing that is so typical of Jane Austen (from two books I've read) is that she speeds up the ending to the point that it becomes anti-climax. I first read Pride & Prejudice in high school and loved it enough to read all of Jane Austen's other books. I got my husband to watch one of the Masterpiece Theatre versions, and he liked the miniseries enough to read the book (he had never read Jane Austen before). He liked the book also.
