A classic in so many ways, yet I couldn't enjoy it as much as the last time I read an Austen. It's too familiar (not a problem with books I really love). I think my tastes are darker now.

I have read this lovely novel of Austen's several times and enjoyed it even more due to this nice edition. The notes are very helpful -- very professionally conveyed and just a great help as notes should be. One of those stories that stays with you so much that you remember where you were sitting when you first read it, if you know what I mean.

So I absolutely loved the movie and it actually inspired me to read my first Jane Austen book because I wanted to know more details of the story behind the movie. Surprisingly, I found that the movie was quite well adapted on the book. I would love to read this book again, as back then I couldn't separate the book from the movie and I can't remember Jane Austen on her writing style but her story is unforgettable!
