A classic. This is so many people's favorite, possibly because it's required reading in practically everyone's school experience and so it evokes feelings of nostalgia -- it did for me, at least. We'd read this book in eighth grade (I seem to remember reading it aloud?) and I remembered the hiding place in the tree's knothole and the sweltering heat of the courtroom balcony. I am reading this book for the 3rd time as my 10th grade English class is reading it. I had to upgrade my rating and decided to finally put a review. I absolutely love this book and it is one of those that gets better with every read. I love Lee's characters and her ability to really make you see good and evil in the small town of Maycomb. I especially liked how the messages of the novel were so subtle and not just in your face like so many books are. There are so many lines the characters speak
