This is a very interesting story about how corrupt a man can become while the consequences are not apparent to those around him. Dorian is forced to confront the deterioration of his soul through the painting of himself but it is too little, too late. There were entire chapters I could have done without as they didn't seem to move the story along. I feel like I highlighted and commented on so many passages while reading this that I don't have much to say now. 150 highlights is definitely my record for a book, which is impressive since this one's so short.

But it's good and I'm glad I read it, and I'm also glad I read it now instead of earlier in life. I feel like 20-year-old me would've been caught up on details and struggled to appreciate the bigger picture of the story.*
