I really like Gerritsen's style. She combines my favorite elements of Robin Cook (great, accurate medical-ese) and Patricia Cornwell before she began to write in 3rd person (I just don't think her books are as good now that she doesn't write in Scarpetta's voice). This book was another winner.

This one is one of my top favorites because it marries both the tv and book versions together. The Sinner is the only book that the show borrowed the plot from, but it continues to have similarties from future books, yet remanins on a separate plane so I get to enjoy both versions without feeling cheated. Rizzoli and Isles is the only series I enjoy on both platforms.
