Although an example of sustaining superstition, somehow, this novel is a perfect example of a fast-paced well-plotted horror story. Having watched the movie based on it long ago, I postponed reading the novel till now but I believe this to have been a grave mistake, because its narrative splendor cannot be contained in a movie.
