I was really disappointed in Recursion after how much I loved Dark Matter (I gave it five stars).

I found the plot messy and hated some of the characters so much that I couldn’t get into the book.

The saving grace for me when it comes to Recursion is that the plot did pick up once Barry and Helena met.

The first sixty or so pages were so slow. I considered DNFing it and picking something else up about 30 times. Am I glad I stuck with it? I’m not sure.

Y’all, if you haven’t read a Blake Crouch novel yet, you need to. I finished Recursion today, and it is trippy! Memory makes reality. There is a new illness that has been dubbed False Memory Syndrome, wherein people experience memories of a life they’ve never lived. A significant number are driven mad by these experiences and suicide is a concern among those who are afflicted. A page turner that grabbed me from the beginning. Blake Crouch does not disappoint when it comes to sci-if. If you are interested in time travel, give this book a try.
