Overall, I thought this book was fantastic! It's definitely more family drama thriller than courtroom thriller, but Angie Kim pulls it off flawlessly! Family drama thrillers aren't usually my thing, but I think my opinion has officially been changed. Or I've just finally read a book that meets my high standards!

this courtroom thriller/family drama is just WOW + switching POVs from victims to accused—everyone with something to hide, all bearing some degree of guilt—keeps the propulsive pace throughout + suspicion is cast wide, and the lines are blurry between guilt & innocence + the characters are so well-drawn, with their utter human-ness, mixed emotions, motivations—and kim slices your heart wide open in showing the lengths to which a parent will go for their child + this book is so smart and perfectl

Happy publication day to Miracle Creek! This is an amazing debut. Actually, it doesn't even feel like that this is her debut. It was that good.
