Presented as a classic children’s story, this book explores the tension between the power of dreams, imagination and illusion and the purposeful determination of a mechanical understanding of the universe. Clocks and time also were prominent images, but I am not sure what the author was trying to say through these elements. This was an interesting way to tell a story, half in words half in pictures. For the most part it kept my 4yo curious and asking questions. Such a great way to introduce children to the world of early film, too.
