I love Wally Lamb - his writing just kills me every time. He is talented beyond my imagination! And I was so excited to read this one. And let me get this out of the way - this is a great Lamb novel but not his best novel. I didn't quite love it as much as his previous novels but I still highly recommend it. He's such a great writer and is able to pull so many things together so effortlessly in his stories! Great book that I definitely recommend!

I really wish we could do half stars...I would like to give this one a 4.5...Lamb is lucky Karli persuaded me to pick up another of his books after She's Come Undone, but I am so glad she did...I have been so impressed by everything else he has written...his writing in impeccable...
The "secret" parts of this book were terrible to read...made my stomach sick, but Lamb blended it all together. I have my thoughts on how the "rest of the story" goes, as I'm sure we all do. Great read... ...more

I enjoyed this book - I thought it would take me longer to read, but it went faster than I expected. It wasn't one of those that I just couldn't put down, but I thought the writing was good, the story line was well developed, and the characters were well thought out. I thought it was interesting that the father, Orion Oh, was a psychologist but didn't catch on to things that were happening in the family and question them further.
