This is the first book in several months that I was really unable to put down. The story was unlike anything I have read in the past, and I enjoyed learning about 16th century Persia. I would highly recommend this book.
Did I enjoy this because it was good or because Shohreh Aghdashloo narrated the audiobook? I’m not sure.
Review to come. I don’t know how to review this thing or how to feel about it at the moment. The carpet stuff was so freaking cool and I loved learning about Iran, especially everything women/wealthy families/marriage types. But goddamn did this get sexy and dramatic 😂 It felt like a depressive, unromantic telenovela with lots of sex.
