Hidden is out in German! Check it out ....
I thought that Hidden was very well written. It was easy to get into the minds of all the characters involved, even when I didn't agree with what they were doing. There were times I almost forgot I was reading a book because it felt so honest and genuine with realistic settings and dialogue. I kept wondering what would happen next and Catherine threw in some twists throughout. The ending felt anticlimactic, but the story was still powerful and intense. I never condone cheating, whether it is phy

Great book! Catherine McKenzie has a wonderful way of writing novels about relationships! Hidden is told from three different angles in the first person voice - Jeff, who was killed while walking home from work as the book opens; Claire, his wife; and, Tish, a co-worker. Jeff's death puts the lives of both Claire and Tish into a tailspin, and exposes the most vulnerable parts of the relationship between a husband and wife, and how fragile that relationship can be at times.

another great book by CM! I love the way the story was told by each of the 3 main characters. I couldn't put it down! I really appreciate that CM told the story without the usual Fatal Attraction melodrama. the characters were believable and "real." I'm also so relieved that she didn't leave us hanging at the end! well-written and very sensitive handling of touchy subjects.

I don't often write reviews for books I have read, but in this instance I was compelled to write one. Hidden is the first book I have read by Catherine McKenzie. From the first page, I was hooked. This book is about relationships and dealing with infidelity from each person's points of view. There are lots of twists and turns that make it difficult to put this book down. I look forward to reading more from this author.

It took me a while to actually sit down and read this book. That's one of the perils of actually buying a book - I figure that once I own it, I can read it any time, and I read library books instead.
Once I actually sat down and started reading it, though, I had a hard time putting it down. It kept me guessing until the end, and every time I thought I had things figured out - did they have an affair or didn't they? - some new information came out, and had me questioning everything I thought I kne ...more

I have loved other books by McKenzie, but this one was just okay. It follows three characters: a man, his wife and a secret mistress. While the characters were well drawn and somewhat believable, I had a hard time caring about what happened to them. It was a good look at hidden grief from the mistress.
