Look at my stars...I don't do that shit often.

I. LOVED. THIS. STORY. Well, part one of this story. I didn't read reviews or the blurb before starting this. I'd heard it was good and dove in. Wow. I just finished & my mouth is kind of hanging open. I loved Ellie. I felt a connection to her from the get-go. She is somebody I can totally relate to. I also loved Camden from the moment he was introduced.

Holy Shit! Is the only thing I thought of as this story ended... and really that isn't saying enough and at the same time it says everything! If you want a roller coaster ride type of read then look no further because seriously this novel brings many, many ups and downs and even flips you upside down and leaves you there for a moment or two. Half way through the novel I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack. I was barely able to handle what was going on with Ellie at that point and tha Holy Shit! Is the only thing I thought of as this story ended... and really that isn't saying enough and at the same time it says everything! If you want a roller coaster ride type of read then look no further because seriously this novel brings many, many ups and downs and even flips you upside down and leaves you there for a moment or two. Half way through the novel I felt like I was going to have an anxiety attack. I was barely able to handle what was going on with Ellie at that point and thats when something extreme happened to her I was angry, pissed off, upset, and saddened all at the same time. Seriously, it was as if the author threw a wrench into what a typical story should have been and the whole roller coaster ride started spinning and speeding up and it made me so freaking dizzy that I had to find out what was going to happen next.

Ellie is a con artist who keeps getting conned. She's a criminal and has been since she was old enough where her parents had her help them steal, lie, and cheat their way through life. Now, she's a 26 year old girl who has trust issues because everyone she's trusted so far has ended up hurting her, all except her Uncle Jim. He's the only one she trusts and because of that, her new plan in life is to run to him and hope that he'll let her live with him and work for him so she can find her path to the straight and narrow... She wants to become a legit citizen. No more cons. But when she gets to her Uncle's house, he turns her down and tells her she can only stay until she finds a place of her own... a couple of days tops. That leaves her to think that she needs to do one more con, and unfortunately the person she decides to con is a guy from her past, a guy who sees through her con and ends up conning her and blackmailing her into helping him... But does he have an ulterior motive?

I am anxiously awaiting the second novel! I want more Cambden and I definitely want more background on Javier and his villainous ways. This novel is not an HEA that will leave your heart happy and sighing in contentment. This is a novel that will leave you wondering how long your past sins will remained scarred on your body until someone decides that they can forgive you and love you enough to cover those scars with something beautiful that you deserve. Because in life you need certain basic things and thats trust, love, and forgiveness. ...more

This book, I don't know what it was, but I didn't really connect with it until the last few pages. When everything was going down for Ellie and Camden. I found Ellie annoying, I found her conniving personality to be a bit too much, she was ready to hurt someone she had feelings for because she was too lazy to be the "good person" she might want to be..

I don't really understand the Javier thing, did he love her, does he love her and what is going to happen next? I will have to read more and see. ...more
