Another winner from Kristen Ashely. When it comes to her books, I feel like I can’t go wrong. This one was more on the intense side at times, but a truly beautiful story of second chances, hope and healing.

I ended up skipping around trying to find parts that were even decent enough to hold my attention. First let's say the writing- horrible it sounds like a 15 year old decided to write a book, I am not sure if this author has written anything else, but if she has and it's decent I am sorry for saying this. The Main character Kia, is a woman who married her high school crush who turns out to be abusive, who is having an affair and took a life insurance (and a hit) out on his wife. His affair leads to him being murdered by the other woman's husband. Of course Kia just complained about him in the beginning, she made no comments that she had a feeling he was doing it. Basically Kia is what you would call a pushover. She has no back bone no thick skin she is weak and she grossed me out in the end.

Sam is a former major Football star, I believe it is mentioned that he played for the Colts at one point and I think I started skipping about Sam and his life when Kia told us she had overly googled him and described him in pathetic detail as being "half white, quarter black and quarter Hispanic". Ok that, right there that makes no sense.

They don't speak well either, I think Kia at one point said 'My husband got dead'. Huh?

She was weak like I said, at the end when Sam was taking off for whatever that was for (I skipped that too) she was telling him she loved him and when he just continued to say "good" she took it, after being with a man for 7 years who didn't love her, she was sitting back and taking that? No way would any normal woman put up with that, especially one fresh out of a shitty relationship. She didn't once tell him to screw off. Instead she wrote him a sad little note and left without saying a word..

Sam comes after her, pulls the jealous ghetto talk and they make up.. Of course they do...

The rest of this review isn't even worth my time, this book wasn't worth my time, I don't really ever give horrible reviews, if a book scores a 1 star I score it and let it go (I don't do that with many) this book however is being returned, and forgotten unless I am unable to forget just how bad it really was. ...more

Heaven and Hell is the fifth book i've read by Kristen Ashley and its safe to say, she can't write no wrong, I did loved this book as much if not more as all the previous ones. The story starts with Kia's Hell, she's been married to her awful husband for seven years and for all those he has abused her physically and mentally. So, I've been on a Kristen Ashley binge of late. I've been rereading all of her works (and in some cases rereading for the second time).

This novel, was the one that I've only read for the second time. And the main reason behind this is because my heart ached so much during the first read that I didn't think I could handle reading it again. But I did...and all of the emotions came tumbling back to me as if they never left me.

That's what type of novel this is. It's the kind that you don't forget ...more
