I didn't see this book coming, it took me by storm. This story was so tender to be full of harsh realities: a tale of love and of loss, simple life vs complex Nobility, virtues vs justification... The list continues. I have to say I didn't see the end playing out as it did. However, I enjoyed this book immensely. This was a great read and I found it to be a refreshingly good take on nineteenth century romance!

I'm not sure why this story left me a bit frustrated. I don't know if it was the narration, I listened to the audio book, or the long ridiculous road the lovers went through to get where they wanted to be. It seemed so long and drawn out and too many unneeded plot devices.
The audio narration was not the best I've ever heard. I listen to a lot of books, and most of the time can get used to a voice after the first few minutes. However, this narrator was not that great.

Wow...what can I say about this story that could possibly do it any justice. It was an emotional journey that I will always remember. I loved the characters and their fight for happiness that almost always seemed out of reach. Love this book. It's fantastic. ...more
An Irish lass and an English lord... a ticking clock... This was an epic read. A real page turner. Full of romance and suspense, achingly sweet and equally beautiful. The author writes like a poetess: "If you should ask for forever, I'll be there waiting until the day after forever ends."
