I have been moved. Emotionally. By a book.
While the majority of you people seem to prefer Slammed, I'm over here worshiping PoR. Will's head is just so damn funny! Such an interesting place to spend the rest of my life (Aaaaaaah always love reading from a male's perspective) And those eleven year old kids...holy snap those kids were hysterical! So out of control but I adored them nevertheless. Thought the side characters blended and complimented all together brilliantly. Tug, Tug, Tug. Everyone ...more

This is the sequel to Slammed
Now, I thought Slammed was good, but Point of Retreat was so much better. Hoover gave us the wonderful characters from the first book and added in many new ones. Some of these new characters make you want to gauge their eyes out and the others, well, they make you want to be their best friend. We get peeks from a character that left in book one and her advice is perfect and hilarious and sweet.

Point of Retreat is a wonderful continuation of Slammed. It picks up a few short months after Slammed ends and continues the beautiful story of Will and Lake. The difference this time is that it’s told from Will’s POV. I found this to be refreshing and welcome, as I loved getting into Will’s head this time around.

Will and Layken have lost both sets of parents... They each have the responsibility of a younger sibling. This book focuses more on how they manage their classes, their responsibilities and still find time for each other. Armed with love, wit and a great set of friends, Will and Layken take on the world. We see their relationship develop, hit a road block and how they get over it and find their way back to each other. Beautifully narrated.

Great follow up to slammed, couldn't put it down. So happy for their happily ever after!

The perfection is almost too much.
