2023 Reread-

It took me a bit to get into this book but once I did, I enjoyed it a lot better. I loved the dual pov between best friends, Laila and Addie. I loved Connor for Laila. He was her opposite and really complimented her. They were just so cute together, even when they’d try to deny the attraction. I loved learning of his ability and how/when he used it. He was a big help during the big event that took place later in the story. I loved Laila, and how she’d do anything for her bestie. Even 2023 Reread-

Even though she messed up in the first book, she made up for it in this one.

Addie and Trevor were so cute and the way they met and how things progressed in the first book was so enjoyable. I felt in this one, I didn’t feel the connection as strong. Not at first. Once the memories were restored and she remembered the Search, I felt more connected with her. Trevor was always my favorite character. I just wanted to feel that pull with them as strongly as Pivot Point, but it wasn’t all there til 40% or so. Still, I enjoyed the friends all work together to help these two lovebirds get back what they’d lost. Or more like what Addie lost and Trevor would’ve had.

I even liked Duke a little this time around. He was kinda douchy in the first book and I hated what he did to Addie and how he used her for his own benefit. But he didn’t belong with her anyway, so it worked out in the end.

There were just some things I struggled with while reading. Therefore I can’t give it 5⭐️ but the fact that Kasie West writes mostly great cute romances I eat up, I still enjoyed this story and what it represented.

Man, some book tastes do change overtime, but I still love rereading old favorites just to see how I perceive them at my age. Not all YA books will be my favorite but I def will be old lady and still reading them. Especially written by my favorite authors.

2016 Read-

Loved, loved, loved it!!! Such a great conclusion to Addie and Trevor's story. And I loved the addition of Laila and Connor as well. Almost more.

Split Second was a very quick read, even though it was a longer story. It continued the story well and had some twists. I liked the book and found it less confusing than the first book. The ending was intense and I could hardly keep up with all that was happening.
