Okay, real talk though... I'm sure this was a big hit back when it was first published, but the 150+ pages of pure angst at the start were hard to endure. Adam would get mad at Juliette, leave, come back, get mad at Juliette again, and that would go on for pages. And Juliette was dumb enough to keep it all going. Unpopular Opinion, I'm sure, but is she really the best option for leadership? I mean, Juliette is a badass and they obviously wouldn't have won without her. But she doesn't know much about people in general, much less leading what amounts to a country.

I… can’t.

I am sooooooooooooo done. Well, even if I wasn’t, the series is done anyway. But hell, this book gave me conflicting feelings until the end. On the one hand, like what I wrote in my review of Fracture Me, I still don’t like this jerk ass version of Adam. I’ve said this a million times and I’ll say it again, this would have been one of those very few books wherein I love both guys in a triangle. This series was so freaking phenomenal that I’m really sad it’s over. From the beginning, Mafi’s writing style captivated me and I’m not really one to appreciate poetic prose, but she somehow made it work for me and a few pages into the first book I was already sold.
What I admire the most about this series is the way the characters are treated. The main characters and even most of the secondary ones are multi-dimensional, really rounded and authentic.

Juliette had such a unique voice, very easy description

This series was so freaking phenomenal that I’m really sad it’s over. From the beginning, Mafi’s writing style captivated me and I’m not really one to appreciate poetic prose, but she somehow made it work for me and a few pages into the first book I was already sold.
What I admire the most about this series is the way the characters are treated. The main characters and even most of the secondary ones are multi-dimensional, really rounded and authentic.

Juliette had such a unique voice, very easy to relate to and I really enjoyed watching everything through her eyes, because she was also new to the whole world setting and she was discovering all the things at the same time as the reader. I think that made her a really captivating narrator. Now, as a character, Juliette grows immensely from book one to three; at first she’s this shy, afraid and broken little girl who’s seeking protection and just wants to be loved. In book two, we see her taking her first steps towards greatness, she’s still struggling to accept herself and what she can do, but she’s aware that she can do amazing things and she’s getting ready to fight and put her abilities to good use. In this final installment, Juliette completely comes out of her shell, she finally understands the kind of power she has and is determined to use it to protect the ones she loves and to fight for justice. There’s almost no signs of that girl who needs to be protected and now her fears are no longer holding her back, but fueling her determination of stopping the Reestablishment once and for all. Juliette is the kind of character that starts at a really low point and grows so much that by the end of the series she’d earned my absolute respect. The author did an amazing job at showing the subtle changes in Juliette’s personality, so all the changes went really smoothly and felt natural.

The other character that impressed the crap out of me was Warner. If you go back and read my previous reviews of this series, you’ll see that I started off hating his guts with a burning passion. I was completely infatuated with Adam and how nice he was to Juliette, so Warner was just really annoying for me and I just wanted him gone. But as the story progresses, we get little hints of his true self and just like that, little by little he started making his way into my heart. I completely switched teams in Fracture Me, when we get to see Adam’s true nature and I realized that if I did a fair comparison between him with Warner, without Juliette’s kind of biased point of view, Warner was clearly much more authentic and a better love interest overall.
In Ignite Me, Warner is in complete possession of my heart. Everything he endures for Juliette and just how much he cares about her is evident in this third book and it made me love him so much… The interesting thing is that I’m not really a person who can easily stop disliking a character when they make a bad first impression (like Warner), and I know there’s a lot of hardcore Adam’s fans who wouldn’t switch teams to Warner’s in a million years, so I thought I would be one of them. But as with the poetic prose, this is just another exception to my rules.

Overall, I can say that I got everything I could’ve asked for in this series finale. I loved the whole series and I think this last book was the perfect conclusion to an amazing story. If you like romance and dystopian worlds, you have to give this one a try, because I’m telling you this series is one of the best in the genre.

I have to say that I really liked the final book in this trilogy. The trilogy as a whole as grown on me as well. This book is a super fast read, but then again maybe that's because you won't be able to put it down until you are completely finished reading it until the wee hours of the morning. Lots of planning and action. Our Heroine has certainly come a long way from the beginning of this series.
