Okay, real talk though... I'm sure this was a big hit back when it was first published, but the 150+ pages of pure angst at the start were hard to endure. Adam would get mad at Juliette, leave, come back, get mad at Juliette again, and that would go on for pages. And Juliette was dumb enough to keep it all going. It's was so repetitive and I was ready to give this a straight-up one star rating, because I found it so unbearable. But then the apex of the action happened, and I enjoyed that. But ev

Unpopular Opinion, I'm sure, but is she really the best option for leadership? I mean, Juliette is a badass and they obviously wouldn't have won without her. But she doesn't know much about people in general, much less leading what amounts to a country.
Also why did Adam have to become such an absolute ass? It's like that came out of nowhere. ...more

I… can’t.

What I admire the most about this series is the way the characters are treated. The main characters and even most of the secondary ones are multi-dimensional, really rounded and authentic.

I have to say that I really liked the final book in this trilogy. The trilogy as a whole as grown on me as well. This book is a super fast read, but then again maybe that's because you won't be able to put it down until you are completely finished reading it until the wee hours of the morning. Lots of planning and action. Our Heroine has certainly come a long way from the beginning of this series.
