This book is amazing! With most books, the plot is similar and sometimes you can feel like you are reading the same book over and over again. But this book was unlike any book I have read. It takes real talent to create a plot incredibly elaborate in a mystery book, and still have a plot twist as the ending! My favorite aspect about this book was how unlikely the setting was. No one would ever expect a murder to be committed on a train, but what a clever idea the author had! Another aspect of th ...more

At first, I was reluctant to read Murder on the Orient Express because I had heard that the movie that this was based on was terrible and because it was an assigned reading assignment. However, once I started reading the novel I couldn't stop reading it because Agatha Christie did such a good job with keeping the reader guessing on what would happen next and by making a solution obvious but then throwing the case in a completely different direction. ...more

Agatha Christie's use of prominent characters and a strong plot make the novel interesting. The beginning seems straight forward and on the surface but the further you read, more is revealed adding an element of mystery. Multiple motifs and themes are used adding to the appeal of the plot, as well as the deeper meaning. Overall, I found this book to be captivating an intriguing, while also guessing who committed the murder of Ratchett. ...more

I really enjoyed reading this novel. I thought it was really well written with a lot of suspense. IT was also very dramatic. You had to really question each character in order to understand them. Each character had a different side to them. Agatha Christie used themes that can still apply to current events today. I would definitely recommend it to someone, especially those who love mystery novels.

I haven't read any murder mysteries before this one, but it was a good book. There were many details throughout the novel that made each page more interesting than the last. Personally, fiction isn't really my preferred genre of book, which is why I rated it 3/5 stars. However, I would definitely recommend it to someone who enjoys books such as these. ...more

I really enjoyed almost every aspect of the book. I loved all the characters and thought they were well developed, and i really enjoyed the setting and the plot as a whole. I was guessing and trying to solve the mystery on my own while reading the book, but I did not expect the shocking conclusion to the book.

I absolutely loved Murder on the Orient Express. I just wanted to read it in one sitting, because I wanted to know the ending. The plot twist at the end was totally unexpected, and Christie is a spectacular writer. The story line is so unique and I loved how it took place on a train!
