I can't believe how the pace and excitement of this book just kept going and going. At no point did you ever feel that it had slowed down. This, the third book, was the continuation and conclusion of the second and it was absolutely fabulous. I loved how everyone came together at the end in order to defeat the common enemy. Abhorsen is the conclusion to Lirael, and in that sense that the two of them make a complete story. This means that ultimately Abhorsen is almost all climax ensuring it's a great ride.

It certainly doesn't change or overcome the issues that extended from Lirael. Sam is still not that very interesting, and his role in the whole things as a result feels somewhat tacked on. The final book is a great payoff to the trilogy. You pick up from the end of Lirael and you taken on a roller coast of a ride. There is barely time to catch your breath as Lirael and Sameth rush to save the two worlds from a terrible awakening.

This is a great read, great characters and really engaging. I took all of a couple of hours to read this as I so needed to know what was going to happen. You are never sure of who is friend or foe until the end and that is part of the fun.
