A non-stop adventure in a world where everyone over 14 years of age suddenly disappeared one night; a world that is now populated by monsters hunting for those who are left. The kids band together under the aegis of Shade, an adult computer-mind/construct, trying to survive in an extremely brutal world. Fast-paced & entertaining.

There's no doubt Nix is a talented writer / story-teller. The world of the Overlords is well-crafted and believable; the characters who inhabit this world equally so. Still, for me, something was lacking. It's not that I didn't care about the characters because I did, but despite this I found myself skimming paragraphs towards the end just wanting the story to be over.
