I devoured Christian's first book, The Nowhere Child, in a night and raved to everyone about it.
I've been looking forward to reading this one and it's not what I expected.
It's a compulsive page-turner again but the twist confused me until I figured out what was going on.
Definitely an author to watch. ...more

Excellent crime fiction! A perfect book for a rainy Sunday read.
Seems like a straight forward narrative and then takes an intriguing twist. Often I see the twists coming but really didn't with this one, just went along with the ride.
Just what I needed this weekend. ...more

Gripping thriller, with well drawn characters and suspense all the way. The author is a master of the end of chapter hook, which caused many late nights. The twist at the end is totally original - I've never seen it done before, and it made me stop and try to work out how the author had set it up.

What a great read, this was a brilliant story of secrets and sacrifices. It follows a similar format to the authors first book, the Nowhere Child, with two stories running in parallel but in different times. Kate is the widow of a man found murdered on an island off the coast of Victoria, whose grief is compounded when she learns about the secrets her husband has kept buried. Abby, is an island local who finds evidence to suggest her husband is a murderer. Kate is determined to find out why her
