After reading this book, I realised that I like murder mysteries to be solvable by the reader if they put their mind to it. The twist in this book which appears quite late in the book makes it virtually impossible for the reader to work it out themselves. While I get that you don't want a book where it's bleeding obvious who did it, I can't help but feel a bit ripped off. ...more

Gripping thriller, with well drawn characters and suspense all the way. The author is a master of the end of chapter hook, which caused many late nights. The twist at the end is totally original - I've never seen it done before, and it made me stop and try to work out how the author had set it up. ...more

Slow to start. Pace picked up with plenty of twists and turns. Writing lacked elegance. Clunky metaphors and dialogue. Worth sticking with for the twist and how it all comes together.
