I love the food channel and watching people cook and I also love reading books that feature food or revolve around it in some way. In this novel, Kit’s parents own vineyards and her father is planning on purchasing the land next door where he has been cultivating crops for a new venture. A very artsy (through words) Melbourne-based Foodie Contemporary novel. I picked up this book for two reasons: 1) the salmon-y cover, and 2) it was an autographed edition - need I say more?
I usually avoid foodie fictions because they suffocate me. With ingredients and recipes and proper ways of preparing things. They tend to be judge-y and condescending, a constant reminder of my inadequacy in cooking.
