Where to start, where to start? Well, how about HOW FREAKING AMAZING JLA IS!!!
Onyx is PERFECTION! Pure Genius!!! I thought Obsidian was amazing but Onyx is breath taking. It's a non-stop rollercoaster ride that tears at your emotions. But did I ever want to get off this ride?? NO!

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this and it didnt disappoint! This book picks up soon after the events of Obsidian and focuses on the aftermath of Daemon healing Katy. There are lots of differnt things going on in the book, so it was very unpredictable and there is never a dull moment. The pacing is great and you wouldnt want to put the book down once you've started. The plot was quite orignal and it introduced a lot of new things about the Lux and the DOD. Katy was a wicked heroine and i could totally relate to her. She is smart and funny and even when she made decisions that i wasnt sure about or they seemed too reckless, i still supported her because she's not one of those dumb heroines and she can take care of herself. She became totally kick ass in this book and i enjoyed seeing her grow into a strong character. Another reason why i like Katy so much is because of her love of books (totally relatable)

Daemon, ofcourse, was as HOT as ever. I really liked him in Obsidian,but he was kind of a jerk at times, but in Onyx he completely won me over; he is now in my Top 5 YA Crushes :) We got to see a more caring side of him and i totally melted everytime he was in a scene. He was very funny and his chmistry with Katy was electric - i swooned everytime he called Katy 'Kitten'. Their relationship goes through a lot of ups and downs which was a bit frustrating because i just wanted them to be together and stop arguing over dumb stuff. Nevertheless, i liked that because of that, Daemon showed how much he cares about Katy and admitted his feelings for her.

Some new characters were introduced - the most significant is Blake. I didnt like him at all, but his scenes with Daemon were totally HILARIOUS! I laughed my head off everytime Daemon called him by the wrong name or threatened him cuz Blake was pissing him off - again. Blake is the definition of douch bag and i really wanted to smack him everytime he pulled another dick move - and he did that a lot. Dee was amazing as ever, though i wish she had been in the book a bit more.

The final showdown, was EPIC!!! There were 2, actually. The ending was killer and i cant wait to see where Jennifer takes us from where she left it. I NEED BOOK 3 NOW!!!! If you loved Obsidian, then prepare to be blown away by Onyx, because it is that GOOD! And, if u love yourself some Daemon/Katy hotness, then you wont be dissappointed because they have plenty of steamy scenes ;)

Onyx blew me away!!!There is a lot of action and turns happening that will keep you reading and reading. And the tension between Daemon and Katy is electric!!!!!!
It’s one of those books that you just don’t want to end!!
Daemon ofcourse was as hot as ever!!!I really liked him in Obsidian but he was kind of a jerk at times but in Onyx he completely won me over!!!!

Oooh God I think I might have fainted a little bit while reading this one, err, scratch that I think I fainted ALOT !!
When one reads Obsidian and gets to meet Daemon Black his thoughts after finishing is Daemon Black couldn't be any hotter, but dang, it's sooo wrong !!!!!!! Daemon Black managed to be hotter, like I wanna jump his bones right this second kind of hot! These are a few scenes, quotes whatever u want to call it, I liked a lot in the book that made me smile, laugh, and drool a little ...more

First off, I have to profess my undying gratitude to Jennifer Armentrout. I have read four of her books this past summer, and I can honestly say she is one of my top favorite authors.

Now to "Onyx." Wow... just wow! Just when I think I can't love Daemon any more, BAM!, he gets all sweet and perfect. Showering Katy with gifts, I wouldn't have been able to hold out as long as she did. He is one of those guys who isn't afraid to tell you what he feels ~WARNING, there is a spoiler at the end. Beware!~

He wears his heart on his sleeve, he is damn sexy, and he has irresistible wit; all that combined makes him the ultimate heartthrob. Hell, if Katy doesn't want him (which we all know she does) then I will take him off her hands. I thought it was hysterical how he kept intentionally calling that Blake guy, who I hated from the second he walked into bio class, by the wrong name. Bartolomeu. Bill. Boris. Flake. Where does this smoldering Luxen come up with such things on demand? -Well, Jennifer Armentrout of course, but I was literally laughing out loud, drawing strange looks from my family, every time Daemon opened his mouth.-

Katy is one of my favorite female, lead characters. I would go out on a limb to say, she is as kick-ass as Katniss Everdeen(THG). I admire that she wanted to learn how to fight so that she could "stand beside Daemon as an equal, not cower behind him." That is exactly the type of female role models that we should look up to. Armentrout certainly knows how to create epic, well-rounded characters. I was a little miffed with Katy at the beginning to the middle of the book. She may be awesome, but she comes with a heaping dose of stubborn that forces one to face palm themselves every other page. She redeemed herself in the end, so all is well with me.

I think "Onyx" was the perfect sequel. I don't know if I can hold out for "Opal." The release date just seems light years away. The ending to this novel leaves the door open for so many possibilities. **SPOILER** I was super sad when Adam died. Poor Dee. I don't know what I hope for her in the future, but I hope something good comes along because she deserves to be happy. Then there is the return of Dawson. However he seems a little -how did Katy put it?- whacked out! Will they be able to get Bethany back? **End SPOILER**

I suggest, no command, that you read this if you can get your hands on it. Maybe read Obsidian first ;) "Obsidian" is still my favorite, but "Onyx" is certainly not far behind. This sequel is way more intense, and my my the sexual tension is just enough to drive you out of your mind.

I'd already been emailed a few times by Caitlin and she'd given me my tour date and what my post would be about. I was told that we'd be receiving these amazing ARCs a month before the tour started. I'm going to start this review by giving an anecdote of my reaction upon receiving this wildly anticipating, sexy, to-die-for novel.
I'd already been emailed a few times by Caitlin and she'd given me my tour date and what my post would be about. I was told that we'd be receiving these amazing ARCs a month before the tour started. Mid-April I was feeling a little excited and every time I went into my email, I quickly scanned for an email from Caitlin. Near the end of April, still no show; and I was getting a wee bit anxious. I emailed Caitlin wondering if maybe there had been some changes and I had not been informed of them. She kindly responded that the ARCs would be sent out in waves and mine was scheduled for May 1st. Oh boy, did I start a total countdown. My fingers itched and my eyes burned for the chance and privilege to read such a sacrilegious book. On that day, I honest-to-God swear I must have refreshed my email throughout the day at least 20 times. The ARC was no show. I was so sad, but still had hope for the next day. By the night of May 2nd I was devastated and so anxious that I still hadn't received it. The days were dragging. Then the most wonderful thing happened on May 4, 2012; I logged into my email and saw my ARC of Onyx. I screamed, squealed, laughed, whooped, ran, shook my butt, did a little dance, yelled incoherences all at the same time. Yeah, just try and imagine it.
I immediately downloaded it and sat down to read for HOURS. I laughed, cried, cursed and got furious reading this book.
I love it when a novel gets these emotions out of me because it makes me love it more. It's so amazing when a story sucks you in so deeply that you can't even hear the exterior world and you react as if it were happening to you. In fact, my stepmom knocked and called out to me (I was in my room) and I didn't respond. Hours later, I exited my room to grab a glass of water and she asked, "Were you sleeping?"
Me: "Um, no. Why?"
Her: "I knocked and you didn't answer. I even called out your name, and nothing."
Me: "Are you serious? I didn't even her you. I was reading Onyx."
Her: "Oh, the one you told me about with the alien? That you were waiting for?"
Me: *nods head like out of control puppet, with scary grin on face*
LOL, so yeah. Sorry dear stepmom, I'd been in Virginia at the moment sparring with my hot alien next-door neighbor.

I loved how Daemon and Katy don't lose their "essence". What I mean is that, even though, their relationship takes a slightly different turn because Daemon is determined to prove to Katy that he's attracted to her not because of their freaky alien thing, they still have that "I want to kill you" attitude. I love it when they argue and go at each others' throats; it's so sexy. (Yes, I know. I'm a sick, twisted little creature.) But, I also liked that Katy is also a bit more... comfortable around Daemon. It's not that she's not affected by him anymore, dear no, but it's like she can sort of hold her own now better.
The surprises of this book are unbelievable. The DOD are bastards. Yes, that is my opinion of them. I thought I had a pretty good idea about what would be going on, but man! oh man! was I surprised with all that went down! There's a lot of steam between Katy and Daemon (I had to constantly fan myself), and the creepy alien bond they have is pretty cool. There's so much emotion going on throughout the whole book that made me feel like on a roller coaster and that ending? Come on, Jen! Why'd you have to leave me hanging like that?
There's a lot of sneaking around, kissing, drama, hot Alien, DOD, SEXUAL FRUSTRATION, and many more that Jennifer serves as beautifully as a yummy cake.

Onyx,the second installment of the Lux series starts with Katy trying to deny the fact that she likes Daemon.And then,the fun starts.A new guy named Blake enters Katy's life turning everything upside down.Daemon doesn't seem to trust Blake but Katy has this absurd and completely wrong idea that Daemon doesn't want Blake only because of the fact that he's jealous.The part about Daemon being jealous is true, but something is really suspicious about Blake's behavior,something Katy realizes and trie Onyx,the second installment of the Lux series starts with Katy trying to deny the fact that she likes Daemon.And then,the fun starts.A new guy named Blake enters Katy's life turning everything upside down.Daemon doesn't seem to trust Blake but Katy has this absurd and completely wrong idea that Daemon doesn't want Blake only because of the fact that he's jealous.The part about Daemon being jealous is true, but something is really suspicious about Blake's behavior,something Katy realizes and tries to understand better by putting her life in danger.And in the process she discovers that people they thought to be dead are actually alive and they,especially Daemon will do anything to find them and bring them back.But it won't be that easy.During the whole book,shocking truths are revealed,trusts are broken and a death changes everything.

I don't think I've ever swooned so much while reading a book!!It never happened before.While Obsidian was kinda like the starting point and didn't have that much action,Onyx was full of action that had me on edge and furiously reading to see what would happen next.Everything was so beautifully described and I loved how Katy developed as a character because truth be told,she was really different from the Katy we met in Obsidian.But she's still caring,loyal and would do anything to protect the ones she loves.Even lie and risk her life which she kinda did since the last chapters really broke my heart.Reading about her being tortured that way was awful and I was so glad when that scene ended.I have to admit that I disagreed with some of the choices she made.However,they taught her some things and I could understand why she wanted to learn how to fight and why she chose Blake to train her.There are always moments in life where we do the wrong thing without realizing it but the choices we make in the end are the ones that really count.

What really frustrated me,but not in a bad way was the fact that Katy kept denying her feelings for Daemon.The guy freaking confessed that he liked her,apologized multiple times and went from being a jerk to being this gentle and tender guy who I adore even more.He even brought her things every single day and she was still like...I want something normal and Daemon is anything but normal.Even though I was annoyed by that small detail,I loved the scenes between them and felt like jumping up and down when I was reading about their tender moments together.I laughed,I got angry,I got frustrated...It was a roller coaster of emotions which I immensely enjoyed being a part of.

I'm gonna say it again though that Katy is one of the most loyal and caring characters ever and I'd love to have a friend like her.She's always there and even though she becomes tougher and kinda finds her inner strength,she's still the same Katy ...maybe a bit more mature which is never a bad thing.

And what can I say about Daemon?I can't express how I feel about Daemon with words.He's the definition of perfection and I think I'll never stop loving him.He has officially become my fictional boyfriend and I'll be really sad when the time comes for me to say goodbye.He's obviously changed and the process was more than fascinating.He also develops as a character and does so many wonderful things to make Katy feel better.He's also caring and loyal and like Katy,will do anything to protect those he loves.Which shows that they're not that different.

Moving on to the writing.I love the way Jennifer L. Armentrout writes and the fact that she can make me feel so many things in such a short time.The concept was amazing and the characters she creates feel real and alive.It's just so easy to imagine Katy and everyone else living next door and doing all the things that are described in the book.It creates this connection between the reader and the characters,this bond that can't be broken.It makes you wanna do something to help them and you'd do anything to live in their world.

I think Onyx was the perfect sequel to Obsidian which of course left many questions unanswered.Everything was so unique and I can't wait to read Opal which I'm pretty sure will be even better!It will also answer a lot of questions and probably clear a few things up!

This was such an enjoyable and fast paced read with a more than satisfying ending.It's kind of addicting since you just wanna keep reading and never let go and it took me to an amazing journey full of swoon worthy moments,action,pain and happiness.Because the one can't exist without the other....There's no happiness without pain,no light without darkness.Does that make any sense?Highly recommend the series if you haven't checked it out yet!

Ahem Ahem , seriously i don't know where to start , what to give million starts , the book too EPIC to a whole new level- A very beautiful book. I've been waiting for this book to come for ages , and sweet baby Daemon , it was worth all the wait . I fe;; in love with the sotry all over again , which i though was impossible. When i first started readingy whole body was tingling , and it still is. This book was truely my undoing ,i became alive more and more with every word i read , evey single wo Ahem Ahem , seriously i don't know where to start , what to give million starts , the book too EPIC to a whole new level- A very beautiful book. I've been waiting for this book to come for ages , and sweet baby Daemon , it was worth all the wait . I fe;; in love with the sotry all over again , which i though was impossible. When i first started readingy whole body was tingling , and it still is. This book was truely my undoing ,i became alive more and more with every word i read , evey single word was just in place ,and evey single word trigerred all sort of crazy emotions ,and i gotta tell you this , this book was from the very few paranormal books that touched my soul. It made me want to smile and cry at the sae time. It was so full of sensuality that you really could'nt help but fall for. note tol self , reading this book made it very difficult for other books to catch my dedication ,cuz DAMN , that was simply freking awesome, it had all required qualifications for a freaking awesome book, well -hell- perfectly written , more than filling thrilling events ,and abve all epic romance.
Now move to Daemon , i never thought it'd be that quick fot him to admit his love and more to the next level , but when he found his Kitten, and more that happy for him , it made him show another side of him ,which didn't even make him less sexy or appealing in my eyes, i loved that he showed this side ony to Katy , God they are so perffect for each other. Both of their smartass comments ,the heate romance between them made it impossible for me to stop reading ,even though i swear i was stealing moments to read it.So Daemon , i love you , you are the best, be good to Katy , and bear with her LOL , i know she can be pain sometimes, but hey she's your love, treat her well.
And now to Katy ,damn you girl , couldn't share a little bit of Daemon ,this is so unfair. I totally can relate with her when she was blaimg the freaking alien mojo between them ,it's so eerie to fall all head over heels , but i loved the ending ,again i also didn't expect them to confess their love ,but it was damn beautiful ,a smlie that split my face into two crept when she tol him he loved her, and that stupid line of her " And the jerk loved me,too" .
So apparently i'm all head over heels, so u gotta endure.
N Jennifer , i love you ,You are awesome ,i owe all this joy, so thank you , please don't make us wait too long a, and never stop writing Deamon and Katy's story , pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease. U ROCK

Katy has had a an odd connection with Daemon since he healed her. She believes it to be the reason why Daemon is always hot for her. If you enjoyed the laptop scene in Obsidian, you will frickin' love Onyx!! There are a lot more romance scenes with Daemon and Katy :::wags eyebrows:: Now don't go getting all excite ...more
