Rarely is a book so transparent in its desire to be swept up by movie producers and turned into the next Hollywood hit.
It's hard to understand what all the fuss is about. It's a formulaic story, poorly written. It's not good science fiction. It's nothing real new in the genre and could easily be categorized as a more brutal Hunger Games, but there is no denying that it is fast, compelling and hard to put down.
