Such a unique story of community politics and family dynamics. I don’t even know if I have words other than I love the rebel child Izzy and have never wanted a child to end up happy with another family like I do her with Mia and Pearl ... being able to spread her wings and be herself, away from the scrutiny and criticism of her family.
Go into this knowing it’s a little slow but I loved the way it evolved with the history of both Mia and Mrs. Richardson.

This book started off slow for me, then caught my attention a few chapters in. Then towards the end, it started losing my attention again, but redeemed itself, for me, in the last few paragraphs. Overall, I enjoyed the book, I just wish it had kept my attention the whole way through.
