I have read a couple of this Author's book as part of a trilogy; while waiting for the third I decided to give this one a go and I am so glad I did. The book is dotted with black and white illustrations which enhance rather than distract from the text. While the cover and title implies that this book may be a horror/thriller, it is in fact a very moving allegory about a boy having to deal with his inner monsters that have arisen in his dreams relating to his Mother's illness and a real monster w
