What Members Thought
I was expecting with this one a general trilogy filler like the majority of second books in a series. However it stands tall with a strong plot, continuing on the story at a breakneck pace. my one complaint is that the previously tried and tested Tris becomes quite self destructive and almost, heaven forbid, mopey. She does what she has to, but seems to value her own life far less and it shows in most of her actions, though we start to see some of the old Tris near the end.
I liked this! The beginning was a bit wishy-washy and at times I was like "what's really going on?" but it built up and I got curious. I liked Tobias and Tris a lot more in this book- there was good emotional development and it was good to see their barriers break down. If they continued with the whole "I'm dauntless, I'm brave, I don't show emotion" notion I would have slapped the book.
