I was pleasantly surprised by this omnibus. I was surprised that some of the characters started to grow on me and I felt their anguish and their happiness. I hated the beginning because the author quickly killed off a character that I had started to like and to sympathize with, but I kept reading and I really enjoyed the story. The characters are well developed and I felt like I knew them.
