Bird Box was crazy freaky, a true horror, and creepy at its best! Imagine finding out you're pregnant, and it's literally the worst timing because the world is going mad in the truest sense of the word. I heard enough good things about the movie for this one that I'm honestly pretty surprised by how much of a boring mess this was. It has some plot elements that really appeal to me (even if they're not exceptionally well-done here), but Bird Box just about completely squanders its premise on what has to be the single most boring story one could tell about a fictional world enduring this particular type of Apocalypse.

I loved that book! The plot was original, I had never read something like this before. We follow Malorie who is a survivor of some kind of apocalypse. There are creatures out in the world who makes people go crazy mad with violence if they see them. It goes back and forth between when Malorie was pregnant and everything started to four years later when she has to leave her home to go somewhere safer with her two kids while being blindfolded. I would not categorise it as horror but it was definit ...more
