The exploration of death and aging and Fermina's feelings at the onset of widowhood were done well and were something not normally found in literature. However, Florentino's relationship with America Vicuna reminded me of Humbert Humbert in Lolita. He had 622 affairs but that one bothered me a lot. ...more
