A sweet, smart, sarcastic love letter to my city. We should have a meeting to discuss it, preferably with some locally-made wine while we all fart around about our refusal to own a TV.

Deliriously fun with lovely moments of tenderness, this book will have you cackling, wincing and shaking your head. Told via letters, faxes and emails, with some narrative about Bee filling in the details, the story focuses on a teen girl who loves her mother fiercely, even though the mom (Bernadette) is not quite in her right mind.

Hands down, the best book I've read in ages. It's funny, insightful and quite biting in its critique of contemporary American culture. A must read!
