This is a really sweet book about discovering yourself and embracing who you are. It was a tad naive but in a good way. I related to the book and can remember my freshman year in a lot of the same scenarios. I really looked forward to the smart and witty comments from the protagonist, and I felt like the concept was well planned, with the interspersed excerpt from the "fake" novel and the fan fiction. I enjoyed the "other" world that was created just for the context of the book. And the world of ...more

This was a quick read, but very enjoyable and very relatable, especially for any other nerds who loved something from pop culture that they were not ready to be done with when that fictional (or supernatural) world when the story was over.

I adored this book until the end, when it faded to gray instead of actually ending. That bothered me about Eleanor & Park as well. I guess Rainbow Rowell just isn't a closer.

I tried, I really really tried. I wanted to like this, but not only did I not enjoy it, I did not like the main character nor care about what happened to her. What kept me going were Levi and Regan. I have no idea why in the world Levi would fall for her. I had to skip most of the fan fiction. I was just bored. I feel bad.

Cather and her twin Wren begin college. Cather wants everything to stay the same. Wren wants everything to change. In true Rainbow Rowell style, this coming-of-age novel takes us through Potterish fan fiction, manic depression, the Gilmore girls, first love, and utterly unforgettable characters.
