"Fangirl" is yet another great book by Rainbow Rowell. When I pick up a book by this author, I know that I'm in for a treat. She is very quickly becoming one of those authors whose future releases are instant buys for me. "Fangirl" is the story of Cath, a young woman who is going to college for the first time. In the past, she has always leaned on her more outgoing twin, Wren, to steer her through life. When The twins go to college, Wren decides to forge out on her own leaving Cath behind. This

I don't know if I can fully express how much I love this book, but I will say that Rainbow Rowell is a talented writer. I read a review of Eleanor and Park somewhere where that person said her writing reminded them
of what it's like to be young and in love with a book.
I loved Eleanor and Park, but I was definitely IN LOVE with Fangirl. I appreciate how deftly she tackled bipolar, anxiety and alcoholism, while also writing one of the most wonderful love stories. ...more

Cath is entering college, and for the first time is not rooming with her twin, who she needed to define herself as an individual. With all these new changes in her life, her anxiety is spiking, and it is easy to hide in Simon Snow (a thinly veiled Harry Potter). Yet, little by little, new relationships tempt her to stick her foot out the door into the uncertain world. When her fe

4.5 stars. I LOVE RAINBOW ROWELL. I don't know what it is about her writing that sucks me in so completely, but I wish other authors could replicate it because I'm sad I've read everything she's written and her next book isn't coming out for a while! Standout qualities are that her characters are lovely and real and complex, and their dialogue is excellent. Wonderful humor and empathy all around. This book didn't really have a heavy plot, but it still kept me up until 3 a.m. because I just could

Dude, I lived in Cather/Pound. This book is kindof about my life. It didn't hit me like E&P though. I'll read whatever Ms. Rowell writes.
