Allison Sekemoto is living in a world destroyed by the red lung virus, which wiped out most of the human population and lead to the rise of the vampires as the ruling body of the world. Refusing to register as one a piece of property owned by vampires, Allison must live on the “fringes” as a human that scavengers for food and shelter.
The vampires are also affected by the red lung virus and it causes many vampires turned into a “rabid” beast attacking anything. Attempting to get find food, Allie ...more

You see, this is the thing with me. Sometimes, I go & read a book without thinking in the consequences. *Peeks in The Eternity Cure page again*

I had never read ANYTHING from Julie Kagawa, so I was like, Oh yeah, lets try. What's the worst that can actually happen? Gee, IDK, naive, stupid past-self of one-week-ago; Maybe a severe addiction is what could happen while reading such an AWESOME author(!).
But, yeah, this book, Ladies & Gentlemen, is quite... dense(?). Er, no, Complex, that's it.

The Story:
I was immediately sucked into the world Kagawa created: drifters, vampires, pets and rabids all trying to survive in a world ravaged by the Red Lung Disease. The subject of vampires has been done so many times it can really get stale but somehow Kagawa tells a story that was not only riveting but surprising. The books moves at an impressive pace and kept me turning pages as fast as I could read. Probably my favorite asp ...more

I can't describe how amazing this book is!
There are no words...
The only thing that really comes to mind when I think of the immortal rules is; holy crap that was one of my favourite books!
You wanna know why? Well...
First off the main character isn't all crazy, love obsessed and all "Ohmahgawd! He looked at me in a way that says to me that he wants me! Holy moly! What a difficult life I lead...I love him too!" So thank you Julie Kagawa for creating a sane girl protagonist with an actual brain. A ...more

When I got this book, I thought oh boy, more vampires but this is much gorier, and absolutely no sparkling here. Kagawa does a good job of sticking to the traditional vampire lore but with a few interesting tidbits. It is set in a dystopian society where the vamps are at the top of the food chain and the humans are the meat, well the blood source. I was not able to truly connect with the characters, people died and no tears were shed. Allie, the main character is tough, and just trying to surviv

The Immortal Rules, the first installment in the Blood of Eden series, by Julie Kagawa took me by surprise from the beginning to the very end. I am fairly new to Kagawa's writing style and I was very pleased at the story that she created in her tome of a novel.

I don't know, maybe I'm just tired of vampire novels, but I just didn't get into this. Once all the vamp hype has died down, I might give it another shot.
