I completely loved this book! Ever since I first saw Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, I completely loved the story of a girl who overcomes adversity and finds her Prince Charming.

This book was an incredible retelling because the character that represent’s Cinderella is a strong heroine who desires greatness. I really enjoyed Cinder’s character development throughout the book. I enjoyed seeing her go from feeling worthless to gaining the courage to stand up to her stepmother.

A steampunk-flavored story about Cinder Linh, who lives in New Beijing. She's the best mechanic in town, but when the prince stops by with a request for her to fix his android (a matter of national importance?)... and her sister becomes ill with the plague... life, and everything Cinder knew about herself is turned upside down.

I went into this with a lot of expectations because this series is so hyped. On that front, I was disappointed. Cinder was a good read, but it wasn't great. It's a nice twist on an old tale that's well written, but a bit slow in parts. It's also not terribly exciting. The world building was ok. Upon finishing this, I realized that there isn't one character I absolutely love. They were all a little bland for me. I just wanted more overall. ...more

AMAZING!!!!!!! This is definetly one of my favorite books. It's up there with Harry Potter!!! Marissa Meyer transformed the fairy tale, Cinderella, into a fabulous new story!! It's just as good as Ella Enchanted!! ...more
