Actually, I gave 3.5 stars to this book.
Di awal2nya agak "lelah" membacanya. Sepertinya Meghan hrs menghadapi petualangan yg sangat melelahkan dan rintangan yg bertubi2, nyaris tanpa dikasih waktu menarik nafas. Tp ke sana2nya setelah bs mengikuti alurnya, ternyata ceritanya memang menarik. Dan chemistry Megan dgn Pangeran musim dingin Ash jg lmyn intens. Cm karakter Meghan msh kurang fierce, utk lead chara blm jelas apa sih kekuatannya? Kebanyakan ngandelin bantuan dr sana sini, bikin capek ka ...more

5 PUCKING STARS!

The Iron King is a very magnificent read. The story was so enchanting and I was truly entranced. This series was recommended to me by a friend and I am so happy she did. I was so completely into the story I could not be talked to, by anyone, while I was reading or else, would earn a lethal glaring. True story.

The story is about sixteen year-old, Meghan Chase, who is very different. Not only does she see freaky things, her family has the hard time remebering her existence most of 5 PUCKING STARS!

The Iron King is a very magnificent read. The story was so enchanting and I was truly entranced. This series was recommended to me by a friend and I am so happy she did. I was so completely into the story I could not be talked to, by anyone, while I was reading or else, would earn a lethal glaring. True story.

The story is about sixteen year-old, Meghan Chase, who is very different. Not only does she see freaky things, her family has the hard time remebering her existence most of the times. Then, her half-brother, Ethan was kidnapped by the unknown and whattaya know, Meghan finds out she's no human at all. Turns out, she's the daughter of King Oberon, the Seelie Court king, making her a half-fae. And that her bestfriend is the infamous Puck! So she set on the adventure into the fairy world to save his brother from the Iron King with the help of Puck, the wise cat, Grimalkin, and the cold-hearted Prince Ash.

I love the story-building Julie Kagawa created in this book. There's some parts where I feel like I'm reading Alice In Wonderland what with all the freakish things that happened to Meghan while in the Nevernever. Also, the characters are very interesting. Meghan is a very likeable character. She's this girl who always felt like she's invisible until thrown into the scary, enchanting world of the faerie realm. She's so out of her depths in the situation she suddenly found her way into but she stood her ground. And she's pretty kickass. Ash, the love interest is one of the Unseelie Court's princes. He's very good-looking and dangerous. And quite cold, pun intended. I have to admit, I was not swept off my feet by him because.... PUCK!!!! Gosh, it was like love-at-first-snark. I'm a total sucker for great sense of humor and he has tons of it in his bag of tricks. He may not charmed his way into Meghan's heart but he did in mine. He's certainly became my favorite characters of all time. I loved his playful nature, the mischief, the cunningness, and wicked humor. And he's a good bestfriend to Meghan but sadly, I think that's all he'll ever be. Grimalkin is another favorite of mine. I enjoyed his sarcastic wits and let's just say this cat's just pure awesome. End of story.

The romance.

Much as it pains me to admit but I'm not sold on the romance in this book. I am not crazy over it. I don't get the insta-love Meghan and Ash has mainly because in the first pages, Puck has already won my heart hands down. Maybe, my love for him completely blinded me from liking Ash. You have no idea how much I've whined in my twitter how it shoulda been Puck Meghan fall into but that's just the bitter me talking. I kinda disliked Meghan's infatuation over Ash when he's still obvioulsy not over his dead ex-girlfriend. I hated how she was so obvious how she's crazy over Ash when he's all cold to her. Ugh.

But, bitterness aside, I still think Iron King is a wonderful start to the Iron Fey series and I'm so excited to read the next book... ...more

Ladies and gentleman, let me just say...now that I how you write a fantasy book.

This book was like alice an wonderland twisted with Narnia. The plot was fantastic the characters loveable.

One word...
Ash (aka the winter prince)*sigh*

Robin Goodfellow is a awesome. He always manages to make me smirk throughout the book. His sarcastic and witty comments are just brilliant.
