I liked Ethan and Grimalkin. Otherwise, the plot brims with possibility that is never quite lived up to. I have noticed on the sequel (and I should probably flip back and see if this one says it to) that this book falls under the genre of 'Harlequin Teen'. Maybe that is its biggest problem. It could stand alone as an interesting fantasy novel, but instead becomes our stupid heroine pining after a guy. Puck makes a sorta-kinda love triangle (view spoiler)

I have to say that Julie Kagawa is a such a good writer. I wasn't expecting much when I first heard about this book and it took me a while to put it on my to read list. The author does an excellent job with the world building and the plot is great. I like that the intrigue increases at a steady pace as the story unfolds. I liked this book but I couldn't really get into it at the beginning even have way through it I wasn't that in to it. I liked the different take on A Midsummer Night's Dream. I thought that was very creative. The ending I was when I got hooked and now I can't wait to read the next book. I hope good things happen for Megan because in this book she has had a lot of bad things happen I can't wait to find out what happens with her and Ash.
