In 1897, the gothic novel Dracula was written by the Irish author Bram Stoker. Archibald Constable and Company of the UK saw fit to publish it on May 26th, 1897. It was during his employment as a business manager for London’s Lyceum Theatre that Stoker wrote novels to supplement his income.
