This book was truly hideous!
Melville is talented, brilliant even; but chapter after chapter of whale massacre and dismemberment is just not my cup of tea.
Yes, the message is powerful. Yes, it is unforgettable.
But this book needs a warning: Not to be read by any old softies that believe animals have feelings.

I loved the use of language, and the drag in the story really adds to the atmosphere...but I struggled to enjoy this book. Guess it just was not for me.
