What Members Thought
I downloaded and listened to several hours of this book but never felt captivated by the story. I'm not sure why. Perhaps the translation was weak? Maybe the reader missed the point? I was annoyed that the reader used a Spanish accent for all of the adults but an American accent for the blind girl and the little boy and all of the narration. The point is that I don't know what kept me from engaging with the characters and the plot. All I know is that I can't finish this book.

Очень красивый язык, замечательно прописаны герои, передана атмосфера тех лет и город, как на ладони. Но в то же время, самому сюжету чего-то не хватает. Поэтому 4.
Would give it 4.5 stars if I could. Finally a book that is different from so many of the cookie cutter plots we find these days.
