Just re -read and once again this was a book I was too young to appreciate the first time round and this time perhaps too cycnical.
I found Cathy and Heathcliff both self-absorbed and annoying. I found it hard to sypathise with either of them. Also neither young Linton or Cathy were very endearing.

This, along with Jane Eyre, I read when I was 11-12. Then in my twenties, either backpacking around Europe or maybe the Italy trip, I reread Jane Eyre because I came across it in a hostel. I tried to reread Wuthering Heights at the same time and quickly gave up. I thought it was pretty terrible, tbh.
Serial Reader was a good way to revisit this, though I’m good with using it until I’m not: once a few days pile up, I tend to give up a bit for a few ...more
