NO BIG SPOILERS IN OBSIDIAN AND ONYX

When I read Obsidian last year, I wasn't planning on liking it (hello! Aliens), let alone loving it enough for it to be my NUMBER 1 favourite read of 2011, surpassing Divergent. ♥♥♥ Daemon was a total babe, but he was stab-worthy, which at times, zeroed out the babe part. ♥♥♥

Daemon is still Daemon and, God, did I miss him. I loved him in Obsidian, but man, he was even more swoon-worthy in this one. There were several moments of utterly sweet Daemon that made me melt. I literally closed the book, sighed heavily and just hugged the book. Take the following for example…

His throat worked slowly. “Can I…?” There was a pause and my heart stuttered. “Can I just hold you? That’s all…that’s all I want.”
A knot formed in my throat and my chest tightened, cutting off my voice. I didn’t want him to leave, so I nodded.
Relief flickered across his stoic face, softening the hard lines, and then he walked around to his side, kicked off his shoes, and slid into bed beside me. He moved closer, extending an arm, and I went, curling against his body, my head nestled in the space between his shoulder and chest.
“I kind of like being your body pillow,” he admitted, a smile in his voice. “Even if you drool on me.”

As you can see, his arrogant side didn’t go very far, but more often he came off just charming and hilarious. There’s a scene where he joins Katy while she films her VLOG that will have you smiling from ear to ear. Lots of good times to be had. He was just amazing in this book. His relationship with Katy takes on a whole new level. The constant pen poking during class and the obvious flirting is beyond HOT. At the same time, he wants nothing more than to protect her. He deeply cares for her and her safety. Katy accuses him of stalking, but he just denies it and claims that he was just "looking out for her." Uh huh. Sure. However, we soon find out additional reasons, aside from the obvious ones, why he’s so overbearing. Something about Katy is changing.

I did not understand boys – especially alien boys.

Ah, Katy. Where do I begin with you? I love you, you know that. You are one lucky chick to gain Daemon’s affections. However, what I couldn’t understand is why you were so stubborn, especially in regards to his reasoning for him wanting to be with you. He saved your life for crying out loud. Isn’t that good enough? Ugh! Some of your actions and decisions just baffled me, but I’m glad you finally came around.

I’m not really going to delve too deeply regarding the plot. There were so many things going on, too many surprises, and new characters to figure out, particularly involving Blake (or was it Bartholomew, or Bilbo, or Bob? I forget). Anyway, I wouldn’t even know where to begin when it comes to describing the chaos that is going on in the story. Just know that this was another brilliant installment of a series that I come to just LOVE. Jennifer Armentrout's writing is pure genius. There’s just something about her storytelling that has you utterly captivated and enthralled. This was an excellent and brilliant sequel. To say that I’m looking forward to Opal (Lux #3) is an understatement. I would be willing to give up my first child to have that book in my hands now. Okay, so that was a tad much, but when you read this, trust me, you’ll understand why I made that statement. I truly loved this!!

Without a single doubt the best book of 2012. A new favorite all time book. Onyx wins ALL THE AWARDS! Jennifer Armentrout is brilliant.

Real (and long) review to come later. I keep trying to start it and it comes out beyond babbly and just WAY too incoherant. This book deserves so much more than that. So let me just begin by saying that I bought this book at 12:01 AM and finished it by 3. And let's not even think about the fact that I had to wake up at six today.
But it's worth it. Ahem, I meant DAEMON is worth it.
Seriously, that boy and all his snarky, little comments infused with a bit of hotness are meant to keep you up at night.
Anyway, this book was just as amazing as the first, and I devoured it. Literally.
I would've liked to see more Dee, but I totally swooned over nice-Daemon and hi ...more

OMG this book is Amazing!! I fell in love with the characters all over again in this awesome sequel!! The plot was addicting as well as Daemon *Swoon* When I first read Obsidian I knew I would love it because Jennifer is an amazing writer. So many things happened in this one that will blow you away! There were new characters, as well as Katy way of protecting Daemon. Katy was more stubborn in this one, which I love because she is hilarious because I love her personality and the chemistry between OMG this book is Amazing!! I fell in love with the characters all over again in this awesome sequel!! Daemon and Katy development in the story really progresses in this one because you learn interesting facts about them. Katy grows so much which is good because she is becoming a strong protagonist who is also a book blogger and also likes to tease Daemon at his own game. If you love the laptop scene in Obsidian some of the scenes in Onyx are soo much better and a little steamy! I always love the chemistry/friction of Katy and Daemon because you can see that they want to be together but at the same time make each other jealous which is also great in the scenes. Daemon is the same as always but in this book you fall in love with him even more!! He is a fun character that any girl will fall in love with because he can capture your heart in one read with his personality and his own character growth with his relationship with Katy.

There is so many twists, like a new character Blake who is very interesting and play a major key role in future books and also a start of a love triangle. Dee is also back, and she may not have been shown many times her role. I loved her character in Obsidian, and I do look forward to see whats in store for her in Opal. With all the action scenes and surprises in Onyx it also leaves a shocking revelation at the same time all the lies and betrayals. I love a good book with suspense and will keep you up at night.

Onyx is a book I could hug all day, it was addictive, my heart was racing all the time with most of the scenes. I am excited to see what JLA comes up next in Opal because Onyx was amazing!! If you have not read anything by Jennifer, I recommend you do, her writing and the story are so amazing! The ending of the book was perfect!! I enjoyed every minute of this book, it kept me guessing and the am excited for more Katy and Daemon!! ...more

Oh...My...Gosh... I don't know where to start with this review. I'm crying at the moment and I don't think I will stop anytime soon after what I just read. I wish I had taken this book slower but... OMG! That isn't possible! Distracting myself by reading other books helped but I kept getting drawn back to Onyx.

I just want to roll around and sob on the ground right now thinking that Opal doesn't come out till DECEMBER, and I want to throw things across the room for how Onyx ended. I isn't really ...more

I have no idea why it took me so long to finally finish this book but boy oh boy am I glad I did.
Daemon once again makes me want to just cuddle up to him. He is definitely on the top of my swoon-worthy guys.

I love LOVE these books... They are so good seriously one of my favorite series right now.. Alot of things go down love found, love lost, the impossible is possible etc. I love that serveral characters had major things happen both good and bad, made for a much better story then just boy and girl fall in love.
