This is an important book. For anyone even mildly interested in education policy, this is a must-read.
It has been a long accepted "fact" that education in America is failing, and that things are getting worse, and that teacher unions are pretty much to fault for that, and that we need LOTS of tests to hold teachers and principals accountable. An excellent book that clearly and concisely lays out the facts as the relate to public education in the US, facts that corporate education deformers ignore and/or warp to suit their purpose. What is happening to public schooling in this country is criminal. Profiteers are making money at the expense of high quality education for all.
