What Members Thought

In many ways very similar to Atlas Shrugged, but I was less impressed with this version. It had more the feel of a manifesto, and the story simply was not as intriguing. The characters were indescribably bland, although quite articulate. Since one of the main themes of this book is architecture, I wish Rand had included descriptions and terms but she glossed over things so quickly it led me to believe she, in fact, knows nothing about the subject (which might be true, I don't know). Her precise,

I know, I know...she's supposed to be one of the most genius authors of our time...a bastion of philosophy magically shrouded in author form...but I hated this book. Regardless of the eloquent speech, well-written characters, and theoretical workings underlining the main plot, I spent the whole time I was reading it wishing for a poker to beat the thing to a pulp with.

I loved, loved, loved this book! I would love it if everyone read it and then told me who loved best in the book. What they felt about each character, if they liked their thought process or not. I would love to know how they felt about the female character.... who I loved so much. And Roark.... how I love his character so much. Aw.... just a very amazing book!

Review to come. I'm pretty sure I can explain myself.
