Once again, I finish a HP book impressed as hell by Rowling's ingenuity and storytelling ability. This is the last in the series that manages to come in under about 400 pages and other than Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, which I remember loving years ago, I think it's the last of the "tighter" and well-paced stories. Not that there isn't something gained from increased depth and complexity. I think the great thing about this series is that it matured and evolved alongside its reader base.

My favorite in the series so far! Although I did figure out the conceit of the plot pretty early on, it still kept me breathless as everything unfolded. Liked the dark, psychological aspects of it as well, and also how this continues not just to provide serialized entertainment, but unfold a larger, overarching story line.

I love all the Harry Potter books. They take me to a magical place that few other books have matched. This book took Harry's growth up another year and Rowling aged his personality perfectly. He ceases to be a little boy in this book and begins to embrace the hero he is.
