I cried. It was probably the first book I've cried at in a while. It wasn't sad, maudlin "Oh-my-god-I-can't-belive-she-killed-Dobby" type of tears, but nevertheless, I definitely got misty eyed. I was only in 4th grade when 9/11 happened, and although I did not lose anyone that day, it's a part of my childhood that I will unfortunately carry with me for the rest of my life. I can appreciate JSF's unique writing style to an extent.
The problem is that the lack of punctuation, paragraphing, and repitition creates a sense of rushed speech. I feel out of breath even reading it quietly.
I also found mamy of the pictures, word layouts, and spacing to be more of a distraction. I didn't feel it added much to the story other than a few of the pictures which provided some visual representation of the storyline.

WOW! This book is amazing. I want to tell strangers on the street to read this book. Why? Because it's beautiful, heartbreaking, funny, sad, hopeful, original, real, clever, interesting, unforgettable story about a boy coping with the loss of his father.
